I completed my Master’s in Wildlfe Biology in July, 2012. For my dissertation project, I studied the winter foraging behaviour of bharal in Spiti and how it is affected by forage depletion by domestic livestock. Lest you think sitting and watching herbivores is monotonous and boring (which is not always so!), I am now studying plants! I joined NCF as a Research Assistant in Feb, 2013 and my current work in association with Mahesh Sankaran at NCBS is to understand the responses of plant communities in high altitude grasslands to changes in climatic regimes and patterns of livestock grazing.
